Edward R. Stettinius, Jr.

Considered one of the principal moving forces behind the creation of the United Nations, Stettinius in early life was a lawyer and industrialist who in 1938, at the age of 37, was named Chairman of U.S. Steel. During World War II, Stettinius joined the Roosevelt administration. He was named Secretary of State in 1944 and was also the head of the U.S. delegation to Yalta.
